After the Quakes @ Eagle Falls

Before we left for Lake Tahoe, a family member mentioned to me that there had been a number of quakes in eastern California, particularly close to the lake itself, which seemed like a fitting risk to our vacation, seeing as we’ve had to scrap other trips for personal and natural disasters. But he was most certainly correct to offer caution, since there had been a series of small, yet notable earthquakes in and around the lake, noted by media as high up as the New York Times. So when we wandered into and above Eagle Falls, sitting at the edge of the rocks where the earth could easily shake us to our death, we had a few more conversations about risk, then sat down and listened to the water.
