The Proudest Moment
January 15, 2021
Trying to describe what happened this morning puts me at an unusual loss for words. Because it’s not just that a sitting US Congresswoman came to visit my classroom and my kids after a tumultuous week in Washington. It’s not just that she said happy birthday to one of my most humble girls and made her day. It’s that I actually had to fight back tears watching several of my students, students who have come through and matured so much in the past year, standing bravely at the microphone and asking their questions, listening intently to the responses from a calm voice at our US Capitol. Thank you, Stephanie Murphy. One of my proudest moments in a decade of teaching.
