Walking Away
May 31, 2019
This week, as I said goodbye to Milwee, my students, and my program of six years, it turned out that the most difficult goodbye was the one I had to give my family of friends and colleagues, many of whom were, as it turned out, moving on to their own new endeavors. For some, I held it together. For others, I dropped a few tears. But in those final weeks, I managed to pen nearly 40 cards of encouragement, though I’m certain that I missed quite a few with the time I had. I wish nothing but the best for everyone in this cadre of incredible people who made coming to work everyday feel like going from one home to another. This was the final yearbook message I left behind.
