Back to the Drawing Board

For those who do not teach, let me explain the difference between just knowing information and being able to teach it. Every student in the world, whether they be young or old, battles with boredom and lethargy. The job of a teacher, a good one, is to recognize when a lesson has failed to engage his or her audience. But not just to recognize the failure of a lesson. To then spend any number of unpaid hours after that point making the lesson better. Because teaching is about connecting. Not just spitting out some stuff you know.

Tonight, I go back to the drawing board on a lesson that didn’t work. Welcome to my world and a few thousand worlds just like mine.
