A Cabin in the Carolina Mountains
November 24, 2021
From November 18 through November 24, Melissa and I drove up to and stayed in a cabin east of Asheville, somewhere nestled in the Carolina Mountains. As usual, I brought far too many books and we ate far too much food, but we relaxed with puzzles, walks, and a few day drives into places we were mostly familiar (Grandfather Mountain, Chimney Rock, etc). Unfortunately, the trip was capped off by an incident that eventually prompted my writing of Cold Turkey Rage. For those who read the epilogue (which is available for a partial to full preview off this website), you may get a better sense of why this last picture (below) almost became the cover of that book, seeing as it’s the least connected and least relevant to the other photos.
