At the Foot of Mount Eiger

We might have grown a few extra toes walking up and down the slopes with our luggage to get here, but the hills were alive, the coffee was brewed, and we had a view. This became our home for five days and six nights in the heart of Switzerland.

Considering that Melissa and I tend to stay up and get up late, this country managed to put us on a more normal schedule, early to bed, early to rise (six hours ahead, of course). But we stayed in a pretty quiet, pretty secluded chalet where I once woke up at around 2am, long enough to see the moon popping up from behind the darkened side of Mount Eiger. At that moment, we felt like we could finally take a breath, two days out from celebrating twenty years. And by the next morning, we were on a walk between the caverns and the rapids at the base of the Alps.
