Teddy’s Prairie Dogs

So last night, I spent an hour or two hanging out in Teddy Roosevelt country, field after field of wild prairie dogs. They’re not only adorable creatures, but also pretty hard to catch on film. I sent this photo of their sunset hills to Melissa to see if she could find the one popping it’s head out to yell, but in the end, I found myself inspired by their giddy and comical behaviors, inspired to re-envision my classroom as a prairie, and my students as the prairie dogs, eager to play, but nervous about the conditions and the people that threaten their safety.
